I finally made a smocket. Actually, I made this a couple of weeks ago when Sew Mama Sew first announced Kids’ Clothes Month, but I am just getting around to writing about it. It’s a great free pattern from the Mayfly. There are so many cute versions of it out there, but here’s mine:
It’s some gifted Windham fabric on the front and a thrifted pillowcase on the inside and pocket. I embroidered the big and little a’s and the stitching around the perimeter. I am having so much fun with embroidery. It really does ad a little somethin’-somethin’, doesn’t it?
I don’t know why I can’t seem to take a decent picture of anything. The light is always all wrong. My camera kinda sucks. The LCD screen on the back is broken, so I can’t see any of the pictures until I upload them. Geez, it’s like the old days of film! Snicker…And what’s with that hanger?! The satin and pink ribbon are so not Audrey. It came with a present, and I thought it might make the photo nicer…hmm, not so much.
Anyhoo, I still haven’t finished the pants I started and I’m already picking out fabrics for another patchwork scarf. I also went to Joann’s and actually bought something new! I got some non-skid sole fabric-a whole 1/2 yard!- to start making baby shoes for Christmas presents. I also need to go the the local print shop and enlarge some of the patterns from ‘Bend the Rules Sewing’, so I can get started. I want to make the swing smock and the adorable elf hat. I think Audrey is going to look too cute for words in that hat. *sigh*

that’s lovely! your hanger, too.
